A Star Map allows the player to ‘Observe’ a locked star while viewing the stars.
Where to Get Star Maps
Star maps can be acquried from Jahi in exchange for Songfish.
How to Use Star Maps
To use a Star Map, toggle to the Stars (T for PC and - on Switch).
Once in the Stars, you can hover over a Star you have not yet unlocked or completed and 'Observe' it (E on PC and X on Switch).
Once you have Observed it, you will now know what you need to do in game to unlock or complete that Star. This is particularly helpful when trying to complete Constellations as you can focus your efforts on unlocking stars in the constellation you want to unlock next.
